James L. Hawks, age 64, of Elkhart, Indiana passed way Thursday morning June 6, 2013 at the Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born October 21, 1948 in Marked Tree, Arkansas son of the late James and Jurlean (Atchley) Hawks.
James resided in Elkhart the past 25 years. On October 7, 1988 he married Marji Veasy in Elkhart.
James had been employed by Imperial Stamping in Elkhart and Syndicate Store Fixtures in Middlebury, Indiana.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed watching television.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marji; twin daughters: Carol Hanley of Blytheville, Arkansas and Tabitha (Carl) Wright of West Memphis, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and expecting one great grandchild; seven sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship and honoring James life from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284.
