Jon Leonard Griest, 80, of Beverly Hills, Fla., and formerly of Colon, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013.
Jon was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Colon, a son of Gerald G. Griest and Wildred E. Hovarter Griest.
He was a graduate of Western Michigan University Delta Sigma Phi and a Korean War veteran. He was a former resident of Edina, Minn., and summer resident of Remer, Minn. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joni Marie; and a grandson, Richard Anton III.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marna; a son, Brett (Shannon) of Stillwater, Minn.; two daughters, Vicki White (Paul) of Inverness, Fla., and Lori Benhart (Randy) of Smyrna, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Joni, Matthew, Chase, Katharine, Brittany, Stephanie, Suzanne, Jon, Michael and Rachel; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Marna and Riley.
Per Jon’s wishes, there will be no services.
