Kathleen and Delmar Gieber made their home at 1015 5th Street, Three Rivers in 1954. She was an active housewife, devoted mother, a frequent babysitter to the neighborhood children and took care of the elderly in her family community.

Kathleen’s charitable acts were unparalleled. She was always there for those less fortunate and in need of help, a behavior learned from her mother Alice. Her interest in helping others led to broad support for her to run for Mayor of Three Rivers. (Only the second woman in the history of Three Rivers) She was proud to serve her community, but this was not what defined her as a woman. Her strength was her independence as a woman and her determination to follow her own path.

Kathleen was notably recognized as an entrepreneur for her business known throughout the area as K Sales, a private and individually developed estate sale business in which she was involved with for 28 years. Prior to that she developed home properties, long before flipping was a term. She also contracted privately as an office cleaning lady for various businesses within the Three Rivers community.

Kathleen always found time to assist the Immaculate Conception School with playground duties, bake sales, convent and rectory cleaning, and fundraisers for books and teaching materials.
