Sturgis arrests

Sturgis police last week arrested a bond absconder who has a history of serious offenses, including manslaughter and attempting to disarm an officer.

According to a department media release, the man attempted to flee from a residence in the 200 block of McKee Street after police attempted to make contact with him around 10 p.m. Thursday.

The 42-year-old man, whose name was not released, was eventually taken into custody.

In a separate incident, Sturgis Police arrested a 55-year-old man wanted on two felony warrants at 3 a.m. Friday in the Quail Run apartment complex.

A 53-year-old man at the residence was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and a 50-year-old woman was arrested for harboring a fugitive.
