Harriett Taylor, 83

Harriett E. Taylor, age 83, of Sturgis, MI passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI.

She was Born Feb. 27, 1930 in Constantine, MI a daughter of the late Marcus and Ethel (Bowersox) Lewis.

Harriet graduated from Mendon High School and had been a resident of St. Joseph County and the Sturgis area all of her life. On May 15, 1948 in Centreville she married Milo John Taylor. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She had been employed by the Kirsch Company in Sturgis retiring in 1993 after 35 years of employment.

Surviving are children: Wayne (Barb) Taylor of Georgia, Ray (Jean) Taylor, Gene (Brenda) Taylor, Jeff Taylor all of Sturgis, MI, Bill Taylor of Three Rivers, MI, Judy (Tom) Wolfe of LaGrange, IN, and Donna (Jody) McClain of Centreville, MI; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother: Galen Lewis of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the Hackman Family Funeral Home – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091.

Funeral Services celebrating the life of Harriett E. Taylor will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, at the funeral home with Mr. Larry Wallman, officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family suggest memorial donations be directed to the March of Dimes or the American Diabetes Association, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
