Investigating blast

State police investigators are continuing to look into a report of a large, blast sound heard around noon Monday in Flowerfield Township.

According to a department media release, Enbridge oil workers in the area of Flatbush and Mt. Zion roads heard the sound coming from a nearby wooded area. The workers told investigators they were unsure if it was a gunshot, fireworks or some other device that caused the sound.

Troopers and deputies from the county sheriff’s department were unable to find any evidence linked to the sound.
