Mark Alan Edmisten, age 28, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning July 27, 2013 in Sturgis due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born June 17, 1985 in Sturgis, Michigan son of Hobey and Janet (Bender) Edmisten.
Mark resided in Sturgis for the past three years coming from Three Rivers. On December 18, 2012 he married Brittani Gibson in Centreville. Mark was currently employed by Lakota Trailers in Bristol, Indiana. He had also worked at Forrest River Marine in Middlebury, Indiana and Allied Construction in Sturgis. He enjoyed camping, fishing, tubing and riding dirt bikes. He truly loved time spent with his whole family especially his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife: Brittani; expecting a child in September; one daughter: Aubreanna Edmisten; two step-sons: Jaiden and Joshua; father: Hobey Edmisten of White Pigeon; mother: Janet Bender of Sturgis; one sister: Manda Edmisten of Sturgis; three brothers: Michael Edmisten of Elkhart, Matthew Edmisten of Arkansas and Martin Edmisten of Sturgis; grandmother: Virginia Bender Carpenter of Jones several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and three great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the White Pigeon Township Cemetery in White Pigeon. Rick Fair will officiate.
