Billie LeClaire, 82

Billie Jean LeClaire, age 82, of Colon, passed away Sunday, August 18th, 2013 at her home. She was born in Three Rivers on November 7, 1930, a daughter of Doren and Ethel (Miller) Davenport. On August 31, 1968 she married Louis V. LeClaire in Honolulu. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1991.

Billie worked as an office clerk at St. Joseph County Animal Control in Centreville, MI. She also worked for C.O.A., Avon and Amway. Billie enjoyed arts and crafts, especially crochet, going to garage sales, animals and birds. She loved teaching about the Baha’i faith and taking care of others.

Surviving are her children Doren L. (Tina) Smith, Colon, Vickie Smith, Colon, Ted (Linda) Smith, Sister Lakes, MI, Julia Rascon, Colon, Pamela (Robert) McDonald, Lebanon, OR, William (Janet) Smith, Colon, grandchildren Julie, Billijo, Heather, Jennifer, Jeremy, Shelley, Chance, Michelle Routson, Michelle Hassel, Shane, Nikki, Kristina, Leilani, Robert, Crystal, Michael, Doren, Catherine, several great and great great grandchildren, sisters Gwen Kelley, Bronson, Connie Pierson, Athens, OH, Judy Snook, Centreville, Linda Davenport, Union City, brother Larry Davenport, Centreville, sister-in-law Margaret “Muggs” Davenport, Centreville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother James Davenport, and great grandson Timothy.

Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday August 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Homes in Centreville. Religious Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The Baha’i Faith Assembly of Kalamazoo and South Bend will officiate. Interment will be at Prairie River Cemetery Centreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Michael J.
