A Greyhound bus passenger is in critical condition after the bus he was riding in rear-ended a tractor-semitrailer Thursday morning on I-94 near Galesburg in Kalamazoo County. The Kalamazoo County Sheriffs Office says 21 passengers were injured when the westbound bus collided with the semi-truck just after 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Eight passengers were taken from the scene to Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital. Seven passengers were treated at the hospitals and later released. The bus driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-semitrailer refused medical treatment at the scene. Sheriffs investigators say the Greyhound bus, which was headed from Toronto to Chicago, was fully loaded with 48 passengers when the crash occurred. Investigators are not yet sure what caused the collision and the investigation is continuing. (MRN)
