Colleen Rose Carrico, age 87, formerly of Centreville died July 29, 2013 in Thornton, Colorado. Colleen was born in Kalamazoo on Aug. 3, 1925 the daughter of William Elbert and Rose Elizabeth (Delaney) Carrico. She completed her high school education at Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo in 1943 and graduated from the Borgess School of Nursing in 1946. Colleen worked for Doctors Fiegel, Braham, and Evans in Sturgis for greatest potion of her nursing career. Many will remember her as the Red Cross Nurse at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair for over 35 years. She served as Village Clerk for the Village of Centreville for 30 years, and for 11 years served as the first Village Manager in Centreville. She retired to Colorado in 1987.
Cremation and memorial services were conducted by the Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary in Colorado. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Kalamazoo with Sister Margot Eder, CSJ officiating. Memorials will be directed to St. Clare Catholic Church in Centreville.
