Magic Get-Together went smoothly

The 76th Abbott’s Magic Get-Together is in the books and Greg Bordner, head of the four-day event, said the event went as smoothly as it possibly could.

Several hundred fans and participants of the trade spent at least a portion of the four days in the village, where nightly performances at Colon High School drew strong crowds and world-class talent.

A highlight of this year’s gathering took place Thursday, when June Horowitz was honored with a Magicians Walk of Fame marker. The square will be added into the sidewalk on the north side of State Street in downtown Colon before her 100th birthday Sept. 10.

A Grand Rapids resident, Horowitz has never missed an Abbott’s Magic Get-Together.
