Phyllis Jones, 54

Phyllis Pauline (Stauffer) Jones, age 54, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013. She was born in Sturgis, Michigan, on August 16, 1958 to Henry and Bertha (Bontrager) Stauffer, of Centreville, Michigan, who survive. She married Roger DeVan Jones, of Portage, Michigan, on Sept 26, 1981. He also survives.

She is survived by her sons, Garrett Jones and Landon Jones, both of Portage, MI; step-son, Craig (Brenda) Jones, of Sturgis, MI; step-daughter Mandy (Kenny) Easterday , of Union City, MI; brothers and sisters, Orla (Rhonda) Stauffer, of Schoolcraft, MI; Lena Stauffer Gregory of Cary, NC; Ruth (Wayne) Stauffer Garratt, of Sydney, Australia; Tom (Deb) Stauffer, of Sturgis, MI; and Bill (Jodie) Stauffer, of Marcellus, MI; four step-grandsons, Bret, Nicholas, Jordan, and Gavin; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Upon graduation from Centreville High School, Phyllis worked at Glen Oaks Community College, and for many years has worked for the State of Michigan in Disability Services. She also enjoyed gardening, golf, and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre where funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11 a.m., with a luncheon to follow at The Bridge Church, 7200 Angling Rd, Portage, MI. Interment will be at South Portage Cemetery.

Phyllis, along with her husband, Roger, was very involved in the establishing of Voyage Church, which became very dear to her heart. In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed in honor of Phyllis, to, Voyage Church, 6339 Atlantic Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
