Ron Hochstetler, 64

Ronald Dale Hochstetler, age 64, of Constantine, passed away Thursday, August 1st, 2013 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Three Rivers November 11, 1948, a son of Donald and Martha (Garrett) Hochstetler. Ron graduated from Constantine High School in 1966 and received an associates degree in business after attending Albion and Glen Oaks. On July 21, 1967 he married Mary Tesman in Constantine. Ron worked as a self employed contractor for 40 years. He was a former member of the Constantine School Board, and former President of the Constantine Jaycees. Ron was inducted into the Constantine Sports Hall of Fame and shared his love of sports coaching little league baseball and rocket football, especially when his grandchildren played . He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan. Even though Ron was a double amputee he still loved to dance, play golf, swim and play many games. Ron was a member of the Constantine United Methodist Church serving as trustee.

Surviving are his parents Don and Martha Hochstetler, Three Rivers, wife Mary Hochstetler, Constantine, son Patrick (Tina) Hochstetler of Constantine, daughter Teresa (Todd) Haifley of Three Rivers, grandchildren Dalton Hochstetler, Dylan Hochstetler, Jett Haifley and Ellana Haifley, sister Patricia (Randy) McClain, brothers Ray (Deb) Hochstetler, Tom Hochstetler all of Three Rivers, . He was preceded in death by his brother Timmy Hochstetler.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Sunday August 11, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Constantine United Methodist Church with a Memorial Service following at 4:00 P.M. Reverend Scott Manning will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Constantine Methodist Church or American Diabetes Association.
