United Way donations for fair

The St. Joseph County United Way is asking for donations to be included in the 2013 Silent Auction at September’s St. Joseph County Grange Fair.

Kelly Hostetler, executive director of the local United Way, said with more space gained as the result of a move to inside a barn, plenty of room is available for items to be displayed during the seven-day fair. The county fair starts Sept. 15.

Examples of popular auction items include bicycles, camping equipment, tools, antiques, themed gift baskets, gift certificates, electronics and artwork.

Hostetler said the United Way will pick up any items contributed to the fundraiser.

Cash donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase items in the name of the donor.
