Adelaide G.(Addie) Deskovitz, age 77,of Sturgis, MI passed away Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Royal Oak, MI, on May 16, 1936, a daughter of Anthony and Adelaide (McMullen) Kaiser. Adelaide was with the first graduating class from Muskegon Catholic Central, then pursued her BA in Nursing at Mercy College in Detroit, graduating in 1958. She had worked as an RN in the health care field. She married Michael H. Deskovitz on August 23, 1958 at St. Mary’s Church in Muskegon. Adelainde was an organist for many years at St. Clare’s Church in Centreville. Adelaide enjoyed music and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving Adelaide are her husband, Michael H. Deskovitz of Sturgis, daughters, Mary Beth (Roger) Bliss, Traverse City, Cynthia Deskovitz, Kalamazoo, Patrice (Michael) Skalitzky, Byron Center, sons, John Deskovitz, Venice, FL, Michael Deskovitz, Shelbyville, brothers David (Dorothy) Kaiser, Xenia, OH, James (Nancy) Kaiser, Otsego, Dennis Kaiser, Santa Ana, CA, Donald (Kim) Kaiser, Kent, WA, sisters, Sr. Kathleen Kaiser CSJ, Nazareth, Mary (Stef) Donev, Bakersfield, CA, grandchildren, Kristen, Kendra, Justine, John, Katelyn, Patrick, Daniel, Alyssa, Connor, Andrew, & Alayna, great grandchildren, Amelia, Estelle, Raquel, Josephine, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Mary Deskovitz, and brother, John Kaiser.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Eley Funeral Homes in Centreville. The Rosary will be recited 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Three Rivers, MI, with The Reverend Fr. Matthew Manalel officiating. Interment of ashes will be at a later date in Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare Building Fund,Centreville.
