The Three Rivers City Commission will stage a public hearing later this month regarding a property at 1001 Wood St.
During Tuesday’s city commission meeting, Mayor Tom Lowry and commissioners set the date, due to a violation of city code. Lowry said the property owner – Consumers Sand and Gravel – has failed to respond to notices of violation left by the city’s Building Department.
Stagnant water on the site is considered a nuisance and public health hazard, which warrants the Sept. 17 show-cause hearing, Lowry said.
The property was inspected May 25 and July 20 last year, and no attempt to rectify the standing water has been made, city officials said.
