Road rage – Two dead

Police have identified the two motorists who killed each other in Ionia following what appears to be a road-rage induced shoot-out Wednesday night. According to the Ionia Department of Public Safety, 43-year old James Pullum and 56-year old Robert Taylor, both of Ionia, were pronounced dead at Sparrow Ionia Hospital soon after the gunfire. The incident happened just before 7 p.m. at Wonder Wand Car Wash. Witnesses told police the men pulled their vehicles into the car wash’s parking lot after a road rage incident and one of the drivers shot out the back window of the other vehicle. Then the other driver also pulled out a gun and the two exchanged fire. When police arrived they found both Pullum and Taylor with gunshot wounds. They both held permits to carry concealed weapons. The Ionia County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab currently are investigating the case.  (MRN)
