Doris Aronson, 87

Doris Yvonne Aronson, age 87, of Three Rivers, MI passed away with grace and dignity on Sunday, October 20 2013 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Doris was born on October 8, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Samuel and Sophia(Keller)Stellar.

Doris was an independent and forward thinker. She was also an avid reader of anything controversial. She had a liberal and understanding nature, which her grandchildren especially enjoyed. She always lit up a room and kept her audience wondering what she would say next.

Doris met Fred, her tall dark and handsome, as a freshman art major at Michigan State where she proved her talent in design, a trait which carried into her life. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree three years later in the morning and was married that afternoon. Between their hometowns of Grand Rapids and Chicago, was a small town that needed a veterinarian. They both loved the small town feel and spent their entire married life raising a family and enjoying their grandchildren. Thank you Mom, for always keeping the cooking jar full, for babysitting at a moments notice, and opening your home so many times to “happy wanderers”.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband of forty-seven years, Fred Aronson, D.V.M., and brother, Lionel.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory children, Diana Stauffer of Minneapolis, MN, Darcy Pryor of Santa Fe, NM, Debra (Bob)Aronstein Guilford of St. Croix, USVI, and Flip(Luella)Aronson of Three Rivers; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The three sisters wish to thank their brother and fourth sister, Lu for the constant and consistent care they gave Mom the past several months. We are truly grateful. Also the family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Riverview Manor for taking care of our “Miss Hollywood”.

In accordance to Doris’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Doris’s life will take place in July with the family.
