Lisa Mains, 60

Lisa Ann Mains, age 60, of Sturgis passed away Monday afternoon, Sept. 30, 2013, at The Laurels of Coldwater, following a long, courageous battle with dementia.

She was born September 16, 1953 in Sturgis, a daughter of David and Phyllis (Easterday) Jordan.

Lisa was a lifelong Sturgis area resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1971.

She worked for nearly 30 years at Kirsch Company in Sturgis until the business closed.

Lisa enjoyed bowling, participating in several bowling leagues, reading and playing cards, coffee time with friends and family and she loved time spent with her grandsons.

She is survived by a daughter: Sheila (Mitchell) Perrault of Mason; a son, Craig Mains of Sturgis; two grandsons, Zane and Drew Perrault; stepmother Gerry Jordan of New Hampshire; a sister, Mary (Phil) Velie of White Pigeon; a brother: Michael (Lisa) Jordan of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Steven Jordan.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lisa Mains will begin at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. James Bender of First Baptist Church in Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mrs. Main’s consider the Alzheimer’s Association, 350 E. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
