Alma Holding, 87

Alma Louise (Palmer) Holding died peacefully Nov. 4, 2013, in Bradenton, Fla., with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Sturgis, the only daughter among six children of the late Albert and Bertha (Baker) Palmer.

She was a faithful wife of 60 years to the late Harold R. Holding, and a loving mother to her five children, Diane (Jay) Blackburn, Janet (Harold) Jones, Barbara (Michael) Lesnick, David (Debbie) Holding and Martin Holding. She is also survived by two brothers, Don Palmer and Leo Palmer; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Palmer, James Palmer and Charles Palmer.

Alma’s family would like to thank the staff of Blake Medical Center, Greenbriar Nursing and Rehab, Manatee Memorial Hospital and Tidewell Hospice for their care and concern for her wellbeing.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 5624 26th St. West, Bradenton, Fla. 34207, was entrusted with arrangements.

A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. Nov. 23 at her church, Sara Bay Baptist, 415 67th Ave. W, Bradenton, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, her family is requesting a donation be made in her memory to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla. 34238 or Sara Bay Baptist Church.
