Alma Jeanette (Huntley-Osborn) McIntosh, age 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 following a long illness. She was born in Alpena, MI on Dec. 9, 1931 the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Baker) Huntley. Alma attended Centreville Schools and American Beauty Academy in Kalamazoo. She and her family moved to Mendon in 1961, and she has been a resident of Sturgis since 1970. For many years she was a seamstress at Denton Mills while also working as a waitress at Rosie’s Sand Lake Steak House and the Klinger Lake Country Club. She was a former member of the Moose, Elks, and Eagles lodges in Three Rivers.
Alma is survived by five children, Darrell (Linda) Osborn of Three Rivers, Carol (Larry) Barnett of Sturgis, Bobby (Deb) Osborn of Three Rivers, Karen Osborn of Saginaw, TX, and Michael (Hope) McIntosh of Three Rivers; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Shirley Kikendal of Hell, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Zell Huntley; her husband, Russell McIntosh in 1991; and a daughter, Candace Clementz in 1994.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. A public open house and memorial gathering will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at the Three Rivers Elks Lodge, 603 W. Michigan Ave. in Three Rivers. It is suggested that memorials be directed to Southern Care Hospice, 4341 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
