Jeanette Avila, 87

Jeanette Rose Avila, age 87, of Three Rivers passed away peacefully at Riverview Manor on Thursday Nov. 21, 2013. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on Oct. 10, 1926 the daughter of Frederick and Rose (Holland) Schade. Jeanette later moved to San Mateo, CA where she met John Steven Avila. They were married on May 8, 1948, on Mother’s Day of that year. They were blessed with two children, Constance Rose and John Anthony. The family moved to Michigan in 1972. Jeanette was a retiree of the Big Wheel Department Store in Three Rivers. She loved people, crafts, and above all, spending time with her family and friends.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 65 wonderful years, John S. Avila; daughter, Connie Bates of Marcellus; three grandchildren, John Bates of Lansing, MI, Anthony (Jenn) Bates of Los Angeles, CA, and Rebecca Rose (Aaron) Sanders of Black Hawk, SD; two great-grandchildren, Zion and Grace Bates; one sister, Elsie Werdin of Hudson, FL. She was preceded in death by a son, John Anthony “Bud” Avila; a sister, Josephine (Mac) Rohrer of Three Rivers; and a brother, Wilbur “Scotty” Schade of Sheboygan, WI.

Jeanette will be truly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday Nov. 27, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Carr officiating. Burial will be in Poe Cemetery near Jones, MI.
