Mendon Kiwanis Showboat

“The Not-So-Wild West,” the theme of the 2013 Mendon Kiwanis Showboat, begins its three-night run this evening.

A cast of nearly three dozen people will perform a total of 24 songs and be featured in a variety of comical skits that have become the hallmark of the annual Mendon event over its 56-year life.

Organizers of this week’s 57th annual Showboat said about six weeks of rehearsals have gone into the program and it will feature singers on the floor in front of the stage instead of on the stage.

The program starts at 7:30 p.m. nightly and takes place at the Mendon Elementary School gymnasium. Tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance.

All proceeds go to scholarship programs administered by the Mendon Kiwanis Club.
