Sturgis Toy Run

The Sturgis Toy Run is providing an opportunity to make Christmas a brighter holiday for area children.

Through Friday, the organization’s Sherman Township-based headquarters will be manned 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accept toys and non-perishable food that will be distributed in coming weeks to families in need.

Pat Linnan, president of the Sturgis Toy Run Inc., said officials from the organization agreed to volunteer their time to accept donations.

This week’s toy drop-off at the Toy Run headquarters, located at the southwest corner of M-66 and Wait Road, is being done in conjunction with the local Salvation Army.

The 2013 collection marks the second consecutive year the Toy Run has also accepted non-perishable food items.

Linnan asked that donations of toys and games be new and in the package. Stuffed animals should still have their tags intact, as well.
