Susan Baker, 58

Susan Jane Baker, 58, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 9, 1955 in Coldwater the daughter of William Darwin Speese and Lucille Marie Rumsey.

Susan has been a lifelong resident of this area. She graduated with honors from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1973. She completed her education by earning an Associate Degree in business and science at Davenport University. She began her working career at the Three Rivers Elias Bros. Big Boy for many years and later worked as an Animal Caretaker at Three Rivers Scidmore Park Petting Zoo, and the St. Joseph County Housing Department. Over the last five years she was employed at Walmart in Three Rivers.

Susan was an avid nature enthusiast and enjoyed watching many nature shows and science fiction. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, swimming, ceramics, and crafting stained glass. Susan truly loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She loves to cherish her loving memory daughters, Blythe Lynn Reed and Megan Lee Reed; sons, Justin (Ashley) Douglas Reed and Miles Robert Baker; former husband, Douglas Reed; companion, Jeff Robinson; sister, Dawn Marie Speese; brother, Tim Halferty; grandchildren, Korbyn Brown Reed and Madison Tuckerman-Raymer; many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Hohner Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Memorials in memory of Susan may be directed to the Scidmore Park Petting Zoo of Three Rivers.
