Fine Arts Festival receives grant

State Rep. Matt Lori is congratulating the Dowagiac Dogwood Fine Arts Festival for receiving a state grant to support continued operation of the annual event.

The Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs recently announced a $5,000 grant to support the festival.

The Dowagiac Dogwood Fine Arts Festival is a week-long celebration of the arts every May featuring visual arts, music, literature, theater, storytelling, dance, culinary arts and master classes with selected artists.

Once mini-grant awards are made under the decentralized Regional Re-granting Program, it is estimated that 82 of the state’s 83 counties will have received grant money from the MCACA.
