James Albert “Jimmy” Johnson, age 90, of Three Rivers, passed away early Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born in Constantine, MI., on November 23, 1923 the son of the late Ralph L. and Nellie Mae (Carnes) Johnson.
Jimmy has been a lifetime member of this area. Together, Jim and his wife, Margaret raised four children on their family farm. He retired from Peterson Springs Corporation in 1983. He also served in the U.S. Navy for a brief time. Jim has been a life member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Three Rivers Rifle and Pilot’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Myrl Ruggles.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife of sixty-seven years, Margaret F. (Luegge) Johnson; one daughter, Linda J. Johnson, three sons, Keith J. (Carol), James A. III, and Larry A.(Pamela)Johnson; six grandchildren, Amy, Chad, Matthew, Joshua, Lauren and Jared; great grandchildren, Crichton and Everett; one sister, Dorothy A. Ruggles; two brothers, Wayne(Loretta) and Guy(Irma)Johnson;
The family will receive friends from 3:00-7:00p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Three Rivers with Pastor Ed LeClair officiating.
Interment will be held at Constantine Cemetery.
