Man arrested for trio of offenses

A 23-year-old Three Rivers man was charged with a trio of offenses following an incident Saturday in Three Rivers.

According to a department media release, officers were called to the 600 block of South Douglas Avenue in response to a disorderly subject. Officers found that the man had broken lawn ornaments, kicked in a door to the residence and took possession of a knife while inside the house.

The man threatened to harm himself with the knife but eventually relinquished it without hurting anyone, police said. The homeowner told police the 23-year-old man is his grandson and they had an argument about the grandson’s drug use.

Officers determined the grandson was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. He was charged with domestic assault, illegal entry and malicious destruction of property.

He was arrested without incident, according to police.
