Robert J. Pierce, 75, of Three Rivers, died on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born on June 21, 1938 in Three Rivers the son of Arthur and Neva (Craw) Pierce. He lived all of his life in Three Rivers except four years he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Three Rivers American Legion Post #170, Eagles #2303, Loyal Order of the Moose #474 and AMVETS of Mesick. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and most of all his family. He was employed as a long haul truck driver for Viking Recreational Vehicles from 1974 to 2004.
He was married to Dorothy K. Brown on Jan. 10, 1959 at the Fish Lake Bible Church. She survives along with two sons, Richard Charles Pierce and Scott Allen Pierce both of Three Rivers; daughter, Susan Shafer of Three Rivers; two brothers, Charles Pierce of Lake Ann and James Pierce of Three Rivers; half-brother, Howard Ely of Three Rivers; sister, Nancy Bailey of Stuart, Fla.; half-sister, Betty Grunert of Three Rivers; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth; brother, Lawrence Sylvester Pierce; one granddaughter.
According to his wish cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Interment of his cremains will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements by the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers.
