Dorothy Mae Snyder, age 76, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2013 at the Heartland Health Care Center following lengthy illnesses. Dorothy was born Oct. 30, 1937 in Chicago, IL. the daughter of the late Joseph and Harriet (Kubiak) Zieler.
On Sept. 9, 1955 Dorothy was united in marriage to Mr. Lloyd Snyder. Dorothy was an avid volunteer for Three Rivers Health and Constantine Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She was a very gifted and talented painter and loved to work on arts and crafts, as well as play cards and beat her family at Yahtzee!
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bill Snyder, two sisters, Geraldine Raifsnider and Lorraine Hartzell, one brother, Ronald Zieler.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband of 58 years Mr. Lloyd Snyder, of Three Rivers; one daughter, Cindy (Paul) Hassenger; grandchildren, Cameron and Ashley Hassenger, Colin (Sarah Struett) Hassenger, sister, Marcella Adams, brother, Norbert (Joan) Zieler. Dorothy shared a special relationship with her stepson and his family, Jon and Sue; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home with memorial services starting at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Stern of St. John’s Lutheran Church Sturgis, MI. officiating.
