Eddie Young, 52

Eddie Dwayne Young, 52, of Three Rivers ,passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born July 13, 1961 in Elkhart, Ind., the son of Eddie Lee and Josephine (Gray) Young.

Eddie graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1979. He continued his education at Southwestern Michigan College. He was employed as an E.M.T. for the Cassopolis Fire Department, was a technician for LeSea Broadcast Ministries in South Bend and later worked at White Hall Laboratories, in Elkhart, Ind.

Eddie was an evangelist for many years, he was a member of Greater Wayside Church of God in Christ. Under the leadership of superintendent Lenord Brooks, Eddie pastored Tabernacle of Love C.O.G.I.C. in Three Rivers. Eddie loved ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, playing basketball and videotaping.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife Martha (Fields) Young whom he married Oct. 17, 1992; children, Quennel Young, Daniel Fields, Danielle (Nathan) Moord, Elizabeth Young, grandchildren, Mikah Young, Nikolas Moord, Audrianna Moord, Londynn Dorrington; sister, Kathy Jackson and brother, Kimmie Young.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 817 Eighth St., Three Rivers, with Pastor Tony Bennett presiding.
