Officials from Three Rivers Community Schools have announced the date for this year’s Empty Bowls soup dinner is Feb. 6
The 19th annual event runs 5 to 7 p.m. at Three Rivers High School. Its goal is to raise awareness and donations to combat hunger
Clay bowls made by first, third, and fifth graders from the district’s four elementary schools will be on display and are available to be taken home by those who donate. The empty bowls are to serve as a reminder of the hunger that some members of the community have to face.
All proceeds from the event will go toward the Three Rivers Area Emergency Care Network Food Site.
In 18 years, Empty Bowls has raised more than $50,000.
