Robert R. (Bob) Gest Sr., age 71, of Mendon, passed away Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1942, a son of Roy O. and Ruth L. (Waldron) Gest in Sturgis. He graduated from Sturgis High School and later proudly served in the US Army. On March 28, 1996 he married Nancy L. Mullendore in Las Vegas, NV. He worked at Delphi in Coopersville, MI for 18 Years until he retired in 1998.
Surviving are his daughter Cindy (Ron) Hahn, Sturgis, son Robert (Jennie) Gest Jr., Sturgis, step daughter Michelle (Allen) McCreery, Three Rivers, grandchildren, Christopher Hahn, Brannon Hahn, Cierra Gest, Zackaria McCreery, Sgt. Bradley (Nikki) McCreery, Taylor Williams, Cameron Williams, Megan Williams, 4 great gradchildren, sister Lillian Sheteron,Centreville, brother William (Darlene) Gest, Sturgis, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy Gest and his dog and best friend Delilah.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday February 5, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 6th, at the Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Balle officiating. Interment will take place at Nottawa Township Cemetery.
