Robert H. Hampton, 63, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Monday at his home in Granger, IN.
Bob was born in Detroit, MI on April 28, 1950 to the late Myron “Russell” and Mildred (Lewinski) Hampton. On May 16, 1970 in Three Rivers, MI he married the former Janice E. Lash.
His wife Jan survives of Granger along with two daughters: Kristi (Trent) Gouker of South Bend, IN and Virginia Hampton of Osceola, IN; three brothers: Greg (Nicole) Hampton of Plymouth, IN, Eric Hampton of Jones, MI, Perry (Dawn) Hampton of Granger; six sisters: Myra Hampton of Kalamazoo, MI, Lorraine (Buril) Ragsdale of Natchez, MS, Barb Hampton of Garland, TX, Valerie (Ken) Bell of Garfield, AR, Nora (Jeff) Hacker of San Antonio, TX and Carol (Todd) Canton of Owasso, OK; five grandchildren: Lexie, Zoe, Xavier, Curstin and Paige and three step-grandchildren.
His Cocoa Beach, FL condo was Bob’s favorite place to vacation; where he could often be found indulging in his favorite pastimes: reading, especially the Wall Street Journal looking at old cars, listening to opera and watching Bill O’Reilly while enjoying a glass of Merlot wine and some Cabot Cheese. Bob was a proud member of the Republican National Committee. Bob was very generous and would help anyone who needed it.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Bob at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger at 11:30am Friday with Msgr. William Schooler, Pastor, officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm where there will be a parish vigil service at 6:30pm at McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. Friends may also call on Friday from 10:30 to 11:15am in the back of church.
