Donald Gerald Swatek, age 84, of Sturgis, and formerly of Westmont and Brookfield, Ill., died Jan. 30, 2014.
He was an Army Korean War veteran and former owner of Holiday Draperies Brookfield.
He was beloved husband of the late Jane Swatek, nee Jacob; fond father of Linda (Lenny) Wenz, Wayne (Lynn) Swatek, David (Laurie) Swatek, Susan (Rob) Buege, Barbara (Bill) Briant, Carol (Joe) Delaquila and the late Tom Swatek; dear grandfather of Mathew (Jill) Wenz, Jennifer Wenz, Bradley (Paige) Swatek, Steve (Jess) Swatek, Jason Wenz, Mike (Sara) Swatek, Kevin Swatek, Sammi Swatek, Corey (Ian) Ireland, Kyle Briant, Kelsey Briant, Emily Buege, Kenny Delaquila, Jacob Swatek, Alexis Buege, Laina Swatek and Nick Delaquila; great-grandfather of Elliot Wenz; and brother of Geraldine Stockhausen.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, and 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, Ill.
The Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, with interment at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook, Ill.
