Glen Oaks Community College has announced details of Expo ’14, an inaugural event where the community is invited to visit the campus, meet and talk with faculty members, and experience the college through hands-on activities.
The free, three-hour event starts at 10 a.m. March 8.
Tonya Howden, GOCC director of admissions, said officials with the Centreville-area school hope to raise an awareness of the programs, services and opportunities that it provides.
Guided tours of campus will take place every half hour. Students will be performing demonstrations in many of the labs—these include Automotive, Welding, Electrical Technologies and the Science labs.
In addition, support staff will be on hand to answer questions about associate and certificate degree programs, admissions, registration, financial aid, dual enrollment and student-support services.
Guests will also be able to explore career options through the Focus 2 Online Career and Educational Planning system.
