Irene M. Yantzi, 94, of Constantine, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, following an extended illness.
She was born Mach 6, 1919, in Anboy, Ind., to S.J. and Sarah (Schlatter) Miller. She was as Constantine resident since 1952, coming from Pigeon, and was a homemaker all her life.
On Nov. 23, 1939, she married Cephas W. Yantzi in Pigeon. He died May 23, 1994.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandra (Terry) Went Sr. of Floral City, Fla., Diane (Harry) Carter Sr. of White Pigeon, Linda Broge of Pensacola, Fla., and Connie (Don) Balyeat Jr. of Constantine; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Kate (Roy) Kurtz of Middlebury, Ind.; a brother, Sam J. Miller of Union; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, LeAnna and Betty.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Barry Edds of White Pigeon Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Constantine Township Cemetery.
