James F. Bucher, Jr., age 51 of White Pigeon, died Saturday Feb. 8, 2014 at his parent’s home in Mendon following a long illness. He was born in Benton Harbor, MI on Aug. 28, 1962 the son of James and Doris (Burton) Bucher. James played football and baseball before his graduation from Stevensville-Lakeshore High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1979 and was trained as an airplane mechanic while stationed in Del Ray, Texas until his discharge in 1983. He was employed as a carpenter for several area modular home and recreational vehicle factories. He loved to play pool travelling with local pool leagues , and working on cars. One of his dreams was to start his own construction company and build his own log home. He believed until the end that God was guiding his life.
James is survived by his parents, Doris and James Bucher, Sr. of Mendon; a brother, Robert Bucher of Portage; sister, Cindy Lacey of Three Rivers; three nieces; and two nephews.
Cremation has been conducted. No memorial services are planned at this time. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. Assistance was provided by the Eickhoff funeral Home of Mendon. Condolences may be left for the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
