Marilyn K. Sword, age 53, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday Feb. 12, 2014, at her home in Sturgis.
She was born Sept. 25, 1960, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Carl and Gwinda (Earls) Lipscomb.
Marilyn was the world’s best mom to her two daughters. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. Marilyn loved listening to music; some of her favorites were country music and Elvis. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing and spending time with her birds and always enjoyed playing with her dog, Honey Girl
She is survived by her two daughters, Jessica (Rick Leonard) Merriam of Sturgis and Stacy (Jerry Longacre) Ramsey of Sturgis; grandchildren Michael and Layson Longacre of Sturgis; siblings Jeffery Lipscomb of Sturgis, Jean Summey of Sturgis, Jerry Lipscomb of Nottawa, Linda Marshall of Sturgis, Larry Lipscomb of Sturgis, Brenda Montufar of Three Rivers and Louise Parker of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her companion, Jeremy Luber; and a brother, Wayne Lipscomb.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.
