Ray Herschleb, 76

Ray Lee Herschleb, age 76, of Three Rivers died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. He was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 23, 1937 the son of the late Albert M. and Naomi B. (Euler) Herschleb. He graduated from Three Rivers High School and attended Western Michigan University. Ray served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Zellars. Ray worked at GTE for 13 years before moving to Florida. There he worked at Stromberg Carlson Radio and attended Seminole Community College. After returning to Michigan he worked at Owns Illinois, attended Glen Oaks Community College and served as president of the Three Rivers Jaycees. Ray loved to watch Three Rivers sports and was a Detroit Tiger and Lions fan.

Ray was married to Janet Miller on Feb. 26, 1965 in Leonidas. She survives along with three sons, Ray Herschleb, of Reno, NV, Tim (Nancy) Covell of Healy, AK and Dan Covell of Three Rivers; three grandchildren, Dustin Covell, Amanda Covell, and Amy McCarter; three brothers, Lynn (Corinne) Herschleb of Portage, Jerry Herschleb of Three Rivers, and Bruce (Dee) Herschleb of Gobles; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Rob Nystrom officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #170..
