Teen dies in crash

The name of the victim in a fatal auto accident last week in Fabius Township has been released by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department. Michael Gabriel Juan Willis, 13, died at the scene of the two-vehicle crash Friday night at the intersection of U.S. 131 and Broadway Street. Willis was a front-seat passenger in a vehicle being driven by Ida Beasley, 43, of Three Rivers. Her vehicle collided into the side of a northbound semi driven by a 56-year-old Niles man, Stephen Whiting. Beasley was airlifted to Kalamazoo, where she remains under medical care. The semi driver was not injured.
