Two win Gold Key awards

Two Sturgis High School students recently won Gold Key awards in the regional Scholastic Art Contest at South Bend Regional Museum of Art.

Peyton Boughton won in the mixed media category with a pencil and ink wash drawing. Brianna Lindsey won in the jewelry category with a ring. Because the girls’ pieces were judged Gold Key winners, the pieces will go on to New York City for national competition.

High school art teacher Sally Baldwin said the competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious national high school art shows.

The South Bend show runs through March 1 at The Warner Gallery at the South Bend Museum of Art.
