Bonnie Walter, 58

Bonnie Sue Walter of Three Rivers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend has lost her long, valiant fight with cancer, but is now walking victoriously, hand in hand with her savior, Jesus Christ. Bonnie was born November 14, 1955 in Grand Rapids Michigan to Tony and Carolyn (Bremer) Flack. On September 6, 1975 she was married to Marlin A. Walter in El Cajon, California. In January 2014, Bonnie retired from St. Joseph County Probate court after 22 years of service, 19 of those years she held the position of Deputy Probate Register. Bonnie and her husband, Marlin, shared an enjoyment of sports, especially Detroit Tigers baseball and University of Michigan football; boating with friends and family; traveling, especially to any location with a beach, lighthouse or maritime museum and spending time with their precious grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Marlin Walter; two daughters Brandy (Dan) Gregart of Vicksburg and Kelly (Jay) Korf of Schoolcraft; two grandchildren Bauer Gregart and Bo Gregart; parents Tony and Carolyn Flack of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers Daniel (Sheryl) Flack of Jenison and Michael (Nancy) Flack of Joplin, Missouri; one sister Nikki (Wayne) Yost of Springfield, Missouri; brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry (Joyce) Walter of Kalamazoo, June Colter of Vicksburg, Nancy (James) Marlin of White Cloud and Doug Walter of Mottville; one uncle George (Joan) Slopsema of Byron Center and numerous wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles, brother-in-law David Colter, nephew Steven Walter and Dan and Brandy’s nephew Calvin Harvey. Bonnie was a long time member of Bethany Chapel in Three Rivers. A private burial will be held. A memorial service will take place at the Three Rivers Bible Church on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bethany Chapel Missionary fund. Envelopes available at the Hohner Funeral Home in care of Bonnie’s arrangements.
