Faye Ann (Platz) Van Ness Letner, age 84, of White Pigeon, passed away Monday, March 24th, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Elkhart, IN on August 13, 1929, a daughter of George and Mae Ann (Hurst) Platz. On June 30, 1945, Faye married Bernard W. Van Ness at Fort McClellan Army Base in Alabama. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1995. On April 1, 1997, she married Carl Letner in Spring Hill, FL. Faye worked as an assembler at Excel Corporation for 15 years. She also enjoyed gardening and refinishing antiques.
Surviving Faye are her husband Carl Letner, White Pigeon, daughters, Georgia Ann (Bruce) Kline, of Schoolcraft; Kathlyn Mae (Glenn) Williams, of Vandalia; Angelyn Faye (Kenneth) Wright, of Cassopolis; son Bernard Sam (Stephanie) Van Ness, of Three Rivers; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sisters, Mary Deckard, of White Pigeon; Kayola Hershberger, of Middlebury, IN; and a brother, James Platz, of White Pigeon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard Van Ness and brothers Maynard Platz and George Platz.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Thursday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine, with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will be in Constantine Township Cemetery.
