Ivan A. Stuckey, age 92, of Burr Oak, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning March 1, 2014, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born May 15, 1921 in Archbold, Ohio, a son of the late Aaron and Sarah (Eicher) Stuckey.
Ivan resided in Burr Oak for the past 49 years after moving from from West Unity, Ohio. On Nov. 30, 1944, he married Lulu Ruth Miller in Archbold and they were together 63 years. She preceded him in death May 4, 2008.
He was a lifelong farmer and an active member of Sonlight Community Church in Angola, Ind., for many years.
He enjoyed reading his Bible and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking and cooking.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Stuckey of Colon and Kaylene (Russell) Rinehart of Burr Oak; two sons, Roland (Cindy) Stuckey of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Philip (Lora) Stuckey of Colon; 10 grandchildren, Laurie (Robbie) Counts, Karl (Heather) Osmun, Dan (Jolane) Conklin, Jack (Janel) Conklin, Kendra Conklin, Jay (Jessica) Rinehart, Justin Stuckey, Caleb Stuckey, Erika (Jason) Tetzloff and Kendall Stuckey; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara (Warren) Frey of Wauseon, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son-in-law, Kenneth Conklin; a sister, Anna (Hyrthal) Aeschliman; and six brothers, Walter (Virgie), Chester (Ilva), Joseph (Berneda), Earl (Ada), Arthur (Mary Ellen) and Donald (Clemma) Stuckey. Ada, Mary Ellen and Clemma survive.
Friends and family will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Lockport Mennonite Church, 9269 Co. Road 21 N, Stryker, Ohio, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday. A graveside committal will follow the service at Lockport Cemetery in Stryker.
