Noel O. Kindt, age 80, of Marcellus, MI passed away Tuesday morning, March 11, 2014 at home.
He was born April 30, 1933, the son of Omer and Mary Ann Kindt. On April 28, 1956 he married Patricia (Gundeck) who survives.
Noel graduated from Central High School in 1951 and went on to attend and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1955 from Notre Dame. He then entered the United States Air Force where he served at Lockbourne AFB Strategic Air Command and retired his commission as a Major. He then returned to Notre Dame and earned his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Bendix Missile in Mishawaka, IN before moving his family to the Chicago area and began his career in the electronic sales and distribution business. Noel and several colleagues started their own electronic sales and distribution business that Noel was involved in until his retirement. He was a member of the Marcellus Lions Club, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 0322 and W9EFL Michiana Amateur Radio Club.
Noel’s love besides his family was amateur radio and Notre Dame Football. He received his amateur radio license at age 16 and continued his hobby travelling the world to further his interest. He was an avid and enthusiastic Notre Dame football fan and held season tickets and attended home games for many years. Noel also loved the game of golf. He was a car buff and owned several cars and loved anything to do with them.
Surviving are his wife Patricia of 58 years, three children, Kim (Brian) Neil, Karen Kindt, Katherine Kindt- (Jay) Schimmel (Jay); grandchildren, Olivia and Reid; brothers David (Nancy) Kindt of Lakeville, IN, Leon (Sue) Kindt of Marcellus and sisters, Mary Kay (Ken) Reimer of Dallas, TX and Linda (Michael) Frageman of Plano, TX and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 14, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. with a 7:30 PM rosary, in the Mater- Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday March 15, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Marcellus with Father Mathew Illikattil officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Independent Cat Society.
