Oydean F. McKenzie, age 91, of Marcellus, MI passed away Wednesday morning, March 19, 2014.
She was born April 22, 1922, the daughter of Raymond C. and Fae (Bent) Waltz. On September 24, 1943 she married Donald F. Mckenzie who preceded her in death.
Oydean was a lifelong member of Wakelee United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. She was the backbone of her family, a loving and humble supporter of her husband and family and was an excellent cook.
Surviving is one daughter, Carol (Jim) Churchill of Harrison, MI; three sons, Dean (Nancy) McKenzie, Raymond (Deborah) McKenzie and Scott (Andrea) McKenzie all of Marcellus; one sister, Marilyn Skidmore of Marcellus; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, two sons, Gary McKenzie and Dale McKenzie, two brothers, Gerald and Kenneth Waltz and one sister, Joan Chiddister.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 P.M. Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor John Messner officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Wakelee United Methodist Church.
