Seven candidates found

Seven candidates from a pool of 26 applicants to replace Roger Rathburn as superintendent of Three Rivers Community Schools have been identified.

Interviews with the seven will take place over the course of three nights next week. The candidates interviewing Monday are: Tim Staffen, CTE Principal, Calhoun County ISD; John Stryker, superintendent of New Lothrop Area Public Schools; and Mike Corey, superintendent of Mesick Consolidated Schools.

Corey is also one of three finalists for the superintendent’s job at Colon Community Schools.

Appearing Wednesday for interviews are Karen Sherwood, superintendent of Boyne Falls Public Schools, and Jean Logan, Three Rivers High School principal.

The process will conclude Thursday with Gary Wood, superintendent of Mio-AuSable Schools, and Jeff Haase, superintendent, of Hesperia Community Schools.

All interviews are open to the public.

Rathburn announced last year he planned to retire in June and more recently declared his candidacy for the 59th State House seat.
