A Three Rivers resident has announced his candidacy for the 59th District House of Representatives.
Bob Sills, a former Michigan Senate employee, made the announcement this week.
Sills is a past chairman of the St. Joseph County Republican Party and serves on its executive committee. He is the recipient of the 2011 Republican Mackinac Conference leadership award for his work in St. Joseph County. Citing his background of working with city and county officials, Sills said he favors the legislature’s effort to restore state revenue sharing to local government.
He has a bachelor of business degree from Western Michigan University.
Sills is the fourth candidate to seek the position currently held by State Rep. Matt Lori. The other candidates are Republicans John Bippus of Three Rivers, Aaron Miller of Sturgis, Roger Rathburn of Three Rivers, and Democrat Mike Moroz of Dowagiac.
