Hydrant flushing starts Sunday

Here’s a reminder from the Three Rivers Department of Public Services will begin its twice-a-year hydrant flushing Sunday night.

Amy Roth, DPS director, said the flushing will start at 11 p.m. Sunday. She said crews expect flushing to continue Sunday through Thursday nights through the end of May.

Each flushing will take place between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The work will begin in the city’s 4th District, then proceed to the 1st, 2nd and conclude in the 3rd district.

Roth said the department is not able to determine the exact dates it will be in each district.

She advises that some rusty water may be experienced during the process and encourages residents to call the DPS office if rust in water continues over a prolonged period.
